System Restore Service Memory Hog

Just installed Beta 2 on my dell inspiron 6000. Noticed the memory hog Vista is, figures;) Though I wanted to find out why, so I started to turn of service to gain some ground. Nothing helped when I disabled a hand full of serviced, working through some of the new menus took sometime, and intermitent the hangs didn't help either. Finally I disabled the system restore service, then like a lung being reinflated after being collapsed the system came back to life. After the service was stopped the system is now much more reponsive and the crashed have stopped as well when going though the new menus. Has anyone seen this simillar behavior?

Yes but XP was the same way.
